Great Time！
The spring recital is coming soon. It is a great time to show your friends and family what you have been working on.
As you prepare, your focus is probably only on your playing, but recitals are also great time to improve another area of your music.
Usually, there is a printed prpgram or an anouncement of the work. The title is the first clue to what the music may sound like.
Also, you can listen for daynamics, repeated melodies, rhythms, or unusual scales. You can even look at a performer's posture.
While listening to other performers' sounds, you can think how the music makes you feel, happy or sad etc. You can even close your eyes to see what images come to mind.
Moreover, you can rate the pieces in your mind sitting in the audience seat. Think about which ones you might like to play someday and why.
Find ways to be an active listener and notice details about the music. This will keep you interested and help you become a better musician!
Post recital seasons are the most important time. This summer take advantage of any performances near you - outdoor concerts that are especially fun.

春の発表会が近づいて来ましたね。お友達やご家族の方々に、日頃の練習の成果を聞いて頂ける良い機会ですね。
参加される生徒さんは、自分が演奏する曲で頭がいっぱいになっているかも知れませんが、発表会では、それ以外のことで得られるものが多くあります。
たとえば、プログラムに書かれてある曲名は、演奏される作品に対する解釈を与えるものです。描写的な曲なのか、舞曲なのかなど、作曲された年代を考慮しながら聴いて下さい。
また、客席から客観的に、他の人の演奏を聞くことにより、強弱のつけ方やリズムや旋律の個性などを感知して、それを自分の演奏に生かすことが出来ます。演奏者の姿勢を見ることも出来ます。
私の門下生の発表会は、大概、全自由席ですが、最前列の席からだと、それが分かりづらいので、あまり勧めておりません。
他の演奏者の音楽を、素直な感性でもって鑑賞する「愛好家」の心を持って下さい。そうすることによって、自分が次に何を弾きたいか、そして、その理由が何なのかを見いだすことが出来ます。
発表会終了直後に、私の生徒さんの多くは、、早速「次の発表会で弾きたい曲」の話をなさいます。「来年のことは、来年になってから話そうよ。」とご返答させて頂くのが通例なのですが、実は、発表会後にお休みするのではなく、次のステージのことを考えて新たな活力をチャージすることは良いことなのです！
私が勤務するインターナショナルスクールは、6月から夏休みに入りますが、海外に行かれるご家庭を除いて、「夏を通して、ピアノのレッスンだけは継続したい！」という生徒さんが殆どでした。それを聞いてとても嬉しく思っております。
