Amazing Piano

Today my piano tuner came to maintain my grand piano. So, I had an opportunity to peer into the inner depths of my piano.

As you know, the piano generates sounds by pressing down the keys. Have you ever looked inside to check how exactly happens?

Each key is like a sea-saw: when you press down on one end, it comes up on the other, lifting up levers.

At the top of those levers, there are hammers covered with felt that strike thee strings.
So, while the piano is called a keyboard instrument, also considered as a string instrument.

Some pianists believe that the piano is a sort of the percussion instrument, because the sound is made by striking the strings.

The piano has complicated mechanism inside on either grand or upright ones.

湿気のせいかピアノ内部から雑音が出るようになりました。それで、調律師さんに来て頂きました。

原因を見つけるために、アクションアッセンブリーを引き出しての作業となりました。

普段見ることが出来ない楽器の内部を見ることで、改めて、ピアノという楽器の複雑で精巧な仕組みに関心いたしました。
