手土産の領収証　Receipt with a Gift

今週は、青色申告の相談をするために、税理士事務所に行きました。
私は、税理士の先生に感謝の気持ちを示すため、お茶のギフトセットを持参しました。

言うまでもないことですが、レシートは破棄しておきました。皆さん、そうしますよね？

しかし、税理士さんは私に、「今日、貴方がここに来るためにお金を使ったことは、私が証明出来ますから、この分は経費に含めましょう。」と、レシートを渡すように求めてきました。

気まずい沈黙のあと、私は「いいえ、それは出来ません！」と言い放ちました。そして、「これは私からの贈り物ですから、断じて、値段を教えるわけにはいきません。」と続けました。

帰り際に、税理士さんは「レシートを破棄してくれて有難う。」と微笑みながら仰いました。

それで、「後日、納税額を減らすために、値段を教えるかも知れませんよ。」と申し上げました。

税理士事務所は本来、愉快な場所ではないはずですが、会話の一場面を楽しんできました！

Receipt with a Gift

This week I visited a tax attorney’s office to consult about the blue tax declaration.
I brought a package of tea to show him a token of my appreciation.

Of course, I had discarded the receipt beforehand. Anyone would, right?

However, he asked me to give him it saying that he can testify I spent the money for the visit, so the amount should be included in the expenses!

After an awkward pause , I said ‘No! it was my gift for you. So, I will never tell you how much it was!

When I was about to leave the office, he told me while smiling “Thank you for discarding the receipt.”

I jokingly answered to him that I may tell him the price on one of the later days to reduce the tax!

I enjoyed the conversation with him even though the tax attorney’s office is not amusement place!
