ピアノの冗談

One of my high-school students are practicing the second Scherzo by F. Chopin while an elementary school student has been practicing another piece of the same title.
Scherzo is an Italian word that means joke.
In music, a scherzo is often a short, energetic, and playful tune with fun and catchy rhythms.
It can be a movement in a longer work such as a symphony or sonata.
In Romantic period, Frederic Chopin made the scherzo into a separate composition.

私の高校生生徒の一人が、ショパンのスケルツォ２番を練習しています。同時に、小学生が同名の作品に取り組んでいます。
スケルツォとは、イタリア語で「冗談」の意味で、元々は短いもので、交響曲やソナタの中の楽章の一部として用いられていました。
しかし、ショパンはスケルツォを独立した作品として創作しました。この２番も他のもの（全４曲）と同じく、長大な作品となっています。
二人とも完成する日が楽しみです！
