オーケストラとの共演

In the end of the last month, one of my students performed on the stage with an orchestra.

He played four famous pieces on the grand piano and the harpsichord that cover the traditional baroque pieces through the contemporary ones.

The program included one of the most challenging pieces for the keyboard instrument players entitled Brandenburg concerto No.5 by J. S. Bach.

This is only piece that has a cembalo solo part in the composer’s six concertos.

In the first movement -Allegro, the cembalo takes a quasi-background role in the beginning. However, it gradually comes to show more dramatic movements in the middle of the piece.

The overwhelming moment appears in the final section.

All of the other performers stop playing. Silence. Then, only the cembalist starts to show the transcendental dexterity.

After the long eye-catching cembalo solo part called cadenza, all the instruments join to recapitulate the theme of the beginning of the music to the end.

先月末に、私の生徒の一人が、オーケストラと共演する機会を得ました。演奏した楽器はグランドピアノとチェンバロです。

上演された曲目は、バロックから現代という広い時代様式から選ばれており、その中の一曲に、バッハ作曲ブランデンブルグ協奏曲第5番がありました。

この曲の第一楽章の後半部分には、同一作曲家による6つの協奏曲中には存在しない「チェンバロによる独奏」が含まれています。

開始部分においては、チェンバロは恰も裏方の仕事をしているかのように、地味な役割を担っています。ところが、徐々に目立つ動きをするようになり、終盤においては、他の全ての楽器が沈黙する中、ただ一人、超絶的な技巧を要するパッセージを披露し続けます。

このようにして、チェンバロによって作り上げられた壮大なクライマックスは、非常に高い緊張度をもって、トゥッティ(総奏)による終尾部に受け継がれます。

音楽史に残っているこの素晴らしい作品を演奏出来た生徒さんは、本当に貴重な体験をされたと思います。
