I received a delighted news today.

The mother of one of my students passed the elimination stage of the contest held in Tokyo this evening. Congratulations!

In fact, she is now my student. One and a half years ago, she brought her small daughter to my piano class.

One day, she told me that she would like to learn the piano herself, too.
She has quickly improved, and had today’s big moment.

In a half year, she will be on the nation-wide final selection.

She told me that the time she plays the piano is now irreplaceable to give her energy between the incessant daily chores.

I hope she maintains her prowess and joy!

さきほど、嬉しいニュースが舞い込みました。

私の大人の生徒さんが、コンクールの予選を通過したそうです。お目出度うございます！

その方は、最初は子どもさんにピアノを習わせたいと、当教室を訪ねて来られました。

お嬢さんの上達もさることながら、今度は、自らピアノを弾いてみたいというご希望のもとに、レッスンに通われるようになりました。

そして、今日の大舞台を迎えられました！半年後には、全国規模の決勝に臨まれます。

子育てや家事の合間に、ピアノを弾く時間は、掛け替えのない貴重なもので、日々、働くための活力を与えてくれるものとなっていると、語って下さいました。

これからも、ピアノを楽しく弾き続けて下さいね！
