今日、少年フェリックス・メンデルスゾーンが、客人のためにピアノを演奏しているところを描いた絵画を見ました。
幼い彼が指揮をするときには、演奏者に見えるよう、椅子の上に立ったそうです。
「真夏の夜の夢」は、彼の17歳のときの作品です。これは、シェイクスピアの戯曲に基づくもので、メンデルスゾーンの作品の中で最も知られているものですね！

Also, a little boy Felix had to to stand on a stool when he conducted so the musicians could see him.
His most popular work is music he wrote about a famous play by Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream. He wrote the Overture to it at the age of only 17, and later composed other movements in the same style.
