フェイスシールドの功罪 Music shielded
今日は、東京にある教会でレッスンを行いました。
そこの礼拝堂で教えるのは、実に4カ月ぶりでした。
生徒のお母さまは、私たちの安全のために、私にフェイスシールドを手渡しました。
彼女は私の髪をのことを、「ツルツルしているから滑ってしまう」と言いながら、頭に装着するのを手伝ってくれました。
最初のうち私は、まるで探検家のようなその装いを愉しんでました。
生徒はピアノの椅子に座るや否や、「弾いている時だけフェイスシールドを外していいですか？」と私に尋ねました。
私は、「外していいですよ。」と言った後、「私も、楽譜をチェックしている間だけ、これを外す必要があります。」と続けました。
この会話は言うまでもなく、フェイスシールドを装着したら、二人とも音符が読めなくなったことによるものです。
違ったタイプのものが流通しているのかも知れませんが、多くの市販品は音楽のレッスンに不向きだと思います。
ピアノのレッスンのためにフェイスシールド選ぶ際には、どうぞ「透過性」にじゅうぶん気を付けて下さいね！

Music shielded
Today I went to a church in Tokyo to teach one student in a chapel after a four month absence.
Her mother handed to me a face shield to keep both the student and myself safe.
She helped me to put it on my head saying that my hair is too smooth to fix!
In the beginning I felt amused wearing such explorer-like attire.
As soon as my student sat on the piano bench, she asked me for an excuse “May I take off this face shield while only I play the piano?”
I answered “Yes. You may.” Then continued that I need to take mine off while I check the music sheet, too.”
This conversation was because both of us couldn’t see the printed music well enough.
Any different kinds of face shields might be being sold, however, I believe that a lot of them are not good for music lessons.
Please be careful about the permeability when you choose a face shield for the time of piano practice!
