日本のクラシック音楽の世界においては、ドイツ語が一般的に用いられてきました。

My first piano teacher taught me the German reading way “A B D E F G A H” earlier than the Italian way “Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti/Si”.
私の最初のピアノの先生は、イタリア語のドレミファソラシより先に、私に、ドイツ語のツェーデーエーエフゲーアーハーを教えました。
Nowadays, English notation system is predominantly used as well as these two languages.
今日では、英語による音名が、これらの二つの言語と並んで行き渡っています。
When I asked one of my small students the name of one key, she started to check every key from one to the next – A B C D E F G H I J K L M N……
私の幼い生徒の一人に、一つのキーを指して、その名前を聞いたとき、彼女は一つ一つの鍵盤を、エービーシーディーイーエフジーエイチアイジェイケイエルエムエヌ・・・と順番に調べ始めました。
She answered “This key is Q!”
彼女は「これはキューです！」と答えました。
Even though there are 52 white keys on the keyboard, we use only 7 letters of the alphabets.
白鍵は５２個ありますが、使用されるアルファベットは７つしかありません。
Let’s count how many times the pattern of ‘A B C D E F G” are repeated on the keyboard of your piano!
さあ、これら７つのアルファベットが何回繰り返されれるか、貴方のピアノの鍵盤で数えてみましょう！
The key on the far left is A.
左端のキーはエーです。
What is the one that is the far right?!
右端のキーは何でしょうか？！
