音楽の予感　A Presage of Musical Joy

今日は、しばらくぶりに楽器店に足を運びました。
Today I went to a music shop after an all too long lapse.

全ての商品が、私が覚えているものとは全く異なった配置になっていました。
I saw every item placed differently than what I remembered.

その店には、かつて数多くの電子ピアノが展示されていました。
The shop used to display a lot of electronic pianos.

しかし、そこに楽器はありませんでした。
However, I saw no instruments where they used to be.

ご存知のとおり、新型コロナウィルスの影響により、多くの楽器製造工場が稼動を止めてしまったり、著しく遅延したりしているのです。
As you know, many manufactories have stopped or delayed their operation due to Covid-19.

大きな人気を集めていた機種でさえ、現在、製造中止になっています。
Even the models that were in a great demand are now out of production.

特に、初心者や若者の間で人気だった手ごろな価格のモデルは、ほとんど市場で見かけることがありません。
Especially, the reasonable ones that were popular for beginners and aspiring stars are now rarely offered on the market.

私は、今後の見通しについて尋ねました。
I asked about the prospect of getting such instruments.

それで、いくらかの情報を得ましたが、入手可能なブランドや機種は限られています。
So, I now have some information, but the available brands and the models are still limited.

「ステイホーム」ということが社会の規範となって以来、多くの人々が、ピアノを弾くことに興味を持つようになりましたね。
Many people took interest in playing the piano since staying home has become the norm.

この大きな需要こそが、楽器の製造が滞っている現実の中にあって、更に需要を増加させたのです。
This high demand only increased demand for pianos that have the production suspended.

供給が足りないことは問題ですが、需要が増えたことは、音楽界の明るい未来の予兆ですね！
Less supply is a problem, but more demand is a presage of a happy future in the music world!
