夏の怪談・・・ An Italian Ghost Story
音楽は、演奏法によって、響きが全く異なることは、ピアノを長く弾いていらっしゃる生徒さんはご存じですよね？
楽譜の中には多くのイタリア語が用いられています。それは、ずっと昔、活躍していた音楽家の多くが、イタリア人だったことに由来するのです。
言語はともかくとして、下記の怖～いストーリーを読んでみて下さいね！

An Italian Ghost Story
As you know, musical scores contain a lot of Italian word. This is because in the early part of musical history, many musicians playing important roles were Italians.
As a result, musicians all over the world can understand the scores used in music even if they don’t speak Italian. By using not only sheet music but also Italian in daily life, our attitude towards musical terms in Italian will become even more accepting, won't it?
Right then, the following spooky story contains some Italian words. Try to visualize the image of each scene or vocalize the lines yourself. I believe your understanding of musical terms will deepen by doing so.
≪Once upon a time, in a certain area, there was an old house that no one lived in. People would avoid going near it because there was a rumor that music was being played in the house.
One day, Minoru and his friend Hana walked ‘adagio’ toward the spooky old house. Hana said a little too ‘forte’ “I’m not scared at all!”. In reality, there were no such things as ghosts around there.
Minoru whispered pianissimo “I heard music coming from the house very late at night the other day.” As the two children approached the dark house, their hearts started to pound “accelerando”, then reached an “allegro” tempo.
They pulled open the creaky door, and came upon an old organ generating a”dolce” melody, but nobody was playing! While they were listening to the music, it became “agitate” and with a “crescendo” went from “piano” to a “fortissimo”.
The children were so frightened, and ran “presto” out the door and all the way home. Shortly after, a ghost suddenly appeared near the organ, and said “Sigh.” in a “doloroso” tone. He continued “Much to my disappointment, no one wants to enjoy music with me even though at the very least, I always play “con spirito”!.≫
