Unhealthy Glissando?!

The student recital is now drawing closer and closer.
In the introduction of the piece that one of my students will be playing, there is a fast forte glissando. This requires the hands to slide down the keys without moving a finger.
She was intensively practicing the part repeatedly. Then, I noticed her pointing finger is swollen turning a reddish purple.
I let her stop playing the piano immediately. I talked to her mother who was waiting in the next room to bring her to a pharmacist to give her an appropriate aid. (It is Sunday today, so, seeing a doctor is difficult, and fortunately, her condition seemed not so serious.)
Later, her mother told me that she is now ok with the condition peeling some skin of the finger. I advised her to practice the piano wrapping the finger with thick cloth, and she can wear a bandage even on the stage to protect her finger.
Children’s fingers are not as strong as seasoned pianists.
So, I hope students are mindful enough to take care of their physical condition in daily practice.
