椅子の真ん中に座らきゃいけないの？ Do I have to sit in the middle of the bench?
皆さんがお使いになっている椅子は、横長の椅子ですか？それとも、トムソン椅子などの小さいものですか？
私の教室には、その両方を置いています。独奏曲か連弾曲かなどで、それらを使い分けています。
横長の椅子に座った小さいお子さんの中には、独奏曲であっても、高音域を弾くときには右の方に身体ごと移動させ、低音域を弾くときにはその反対に、左側に座り直すため移動するといった光景をよく見かけます。
しかし、演奏者は曲を弾いている間、身体を椅子の中央から移動させることなく、安定させていなければならないことを覚えて下さいね。

When you play a solo piece, the middle is the best place to sit with the bench itself positioned in the middle of the piano. From this middle point you have the best access to all of the piano keys
Even smaller players can lean towards the keyboard, extend their arms, and reach very far up and down the keyboard. This is not possible if you sit more to one side than other.
Pianists should also in the same place on the bench during a piece. It is generally not a good idea to move from one side of the bench to the other to play in different parts of the piano.!
