Plurality 選択それとも蓄積？
今日、私がピアノを教えている高校生の生徒が、「オーナーバンド」（栄誉ある楽団の意）の入団試験に合格したという知らせを受けました。
おめでとうございます！
私にとって、誇らしいことです。
彼女にとっては、才能の証です。
今回は、たった二人しか合格しなかったそうです。
これは関東規模の管弦楽による活動です。
その生徒は、ピアノだけでなくバイオリンにも才能があります。
彼女は申し訳なさそうに、「バイオリンの練習を今まで以上にしなければならなくなるから、ピアノに支障が出ないか心配」と言いました。
物事を達成するためのこうした誠実さは、彼女の才能の原点です。
私は「複数の楽器を習得することは、むしろ総合的な音楽性を高めることになる」と励ましました。
そして、この春に私の教室で予定されている「オンラインピアノ発表会」に参加する意思も示してくれました。
曲目は、ショパンの「スケルツォ2番」にほぼ決定しました。
彼女ならバイオリンと両立して、立派にピアノ曲を完成することが出来るでしょう。
人生のシナリオは「どちらかの選択」ではなく、「試みたこと全ての蓄積」ですね！

Today one of my high-school students bestowed upon me the delightful news of her passing the audition of “Honored Band” as a violinist.
Congratulations! Proud is what I am. Talented is what she is.
This audition is by the Kanto-wide orchestral organization. Only advanced students can be approved.
She’s gifted in not only the violin but also the piano.
She said apologetically, “ I want to practice the violin harder but I fear it may hinder my devotion to the piano.” I replied, “Learning multiple instruments only benefits your overall growth as a musician.”
With such earnestness to achieve what she has, plurality of ability is easily within her to command. Life is not an “either or” scenario, it is a cumulation of every endeavor we follow.
